Have your say on health in Lake Cargelligo

Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN) is providing Lake Cargelligo locals an opportunity to share their stories about health in an effort to better support the community’s health needs.

The casual ‘Conversations on the Couch’ event which will be held on Thursday 30 March 2023 between 10am and midday at Fisho’s Hot Bake and Takeaway will allow community members and health professionals an opportunity to chat with MPHN staff about health.

Senior Manager Population Health Planning and Data Dr Jason Bennie said the feedback informs how health needs are met in the region and help determine the best services to meet those needs.

“Each year we look at the various sources of information available to us about the health of our region including data and feedback from community, to help us identify any new or emerging needs for us to consider as we plan our future activity,” Dr Bennie said.

“Our Conversations on the Couch activity is one way for us to gather rich information from community about these emerging needs. I would encourage as many Lake Cargelligo locals to come down and chat to us. There is no set agenda or questions we are seeking feedback on - the conversation is led by each person who attends.

“If you’re unable to attend and you would like to contribute your thoughts, you can complete a community feedback survey available at our website.”

Lake Cargelligo Local Health Advisory Committee chair Meredith Ervin said the Conversations on the Couch events are an exciting initiative that will give voice to the community’s health concerns.

“I would like to see as many locals as possible at Conversations on the Couch as it’s our chance to share our health experiences and make a difference in the health of our community,” Ms Ervin said.

MPHN’s Health Needs Assessment initiative gives communities across the Murrumbidgee the opportunity to share their thoughts on what is important to them about health, and what improvements could be made, using two online surveys and local ‘Conversations on the Couch’ events.

Locals are encouraged to head to www.mphn.org.au/hna to submit their feedback anytime.
