Voluntary Assisted Dying

In preparation for VAD accessible in NSW from 28 November, healthcare providers are invited to receive the latest update on local implementation

GPs, GP practice teams, pharmacy, and allied health in the Murrumbidgee region are invited to participate in this one-hour local education session on Voluntary Assisted Dying in NSW, including an opportunity for Q&A.

This is a great opportunity to get up to date prior to VAD being available from 28 November 2023.

Presentation:

  • Dr Shane Curran, Clinical Lead VAD, MLHD

  • Annie Skipworth, Voluntary Assisted Dying Project Manager, MLHD

  • Dr Jane Goddard, HealthPathways Clinical Editor, MPHN

Facilitated by: Dr Alam Yoosuff, GP and Director Primary Care, MLHD

MPHN and MLHD are working together to ensure local pathways are made available in the Murrumbidgee region and to ensure the voluntary assisted dying process is safe, appropriate and follows the law in NSW.

Further information on VAD is available for health professionals on the NSW Health website.

This event can be self-reported for 1 hours of Educational Activity (EA) using Quick Log on the RACGP CPD dashboard.
