Statement on The Voice to Parliament

MPHN and its Board, firsthealth Limited, recognise the importance for Australia’s First Nations people to be heard and represented, which is critical to achieving better health outcomes and assists in Closing the Gap. In fact, we pride ourselves on fostering relationships and opportunities to collaborate with our region’s First Nations people.

We understand and respect people will have differing opinions on a constitutionally enshrined Voice to Parliament. We encourage everyone to safely learn about both sides of the debate, and to engage in respectful conversations.

Irrespective of the outcome of the referendum, MPHN and firsthealth Limited will continue to ensure decisions about the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are made with their knowledge, involvement, and collaboration.
