Nominations for Primary Healthcare Awards now open

Nominations for Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network’s (MPHN) annual Primary Healthcare Awards opened today, with awards to be presented in the categories of Outstanding Contribution to Leadership in Primary Healthcare, Innovation, Promoting Healthy Living, and Murrumbidgee Grant of the Year.

MPHN Board Chair Dr Jodi Culbert said the awards aim to honour the hard work and dedication of healthcare workers in the primary care setting and recognise the contribution community makes to improving health across the Murrumbidgee region.

“Each year we see some remarkable and meaningful work done to improve health outcomes for people across the region, quite often under very difficult and challenging circumstances,” Dr Culbert said.

“Our primary healthcare professionals and organisations have faced a number of challenging years, with the continuance of the COVID-19 pandemic and the strain on our health system.

“These awards acknowledge the talent and excellence of those who have worked tirelessly to keep our communities safe and improve health outcomes through their dedication, innovation and leadership.”

MPHN Acting CEO Julie Redway is encouraging individuals, organisations and communities to submit award nominations prior to the 18 September closing date.

“The Primary Healthcare Awards recognise the outstanding achievements and contributions in primary healthcare programs and services in the area of innovation, promotion of healthy living, and leadership as well as rewarding and acknowledging the dedication and hard work of community groups or organisations who received funding from MPHN’s various community grants.” Said Ms Redway.

‘Our 2021 award recipients again demonstrated the remarkable depth of talent, resourcefulness and commitment to community we so often see throughout the Murrumbidgee and I am excited to learn about the nominees for 2022.’

Award winners will be announced on Thursday 3 November at the 2022 Primary Healthcare Awards and dinner.
