Nominations for regional Primary Healthcare Awards now open

Health professionals, organisations and communities are set to again be recognised for their valuable contributions to improving health outcomes in the region during the past 12 months.

Nominations for Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network’s (MPHN) annual Primary Healthcare Awards opened today, with award categories including Outstanding Contribution to Leadership in Primary Healthcare, Innovation, Promoting Healthy Living, and Murrumbidgee Grant of the Year.

MPHN Board Chair Dr Jodi Culbert said the awards presented a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of healthcare workers in the primary care setting.

“As a general practitioner, every day I see my colleagues, other health professionals and organisations throughout the Murrumbidgee region implementing meaningful strategies to improve health outcomes for their patients and stakeholders,” Dr Culbert said.

“During 2020 in particular, our primary healthcare providers have faced some enormous challenges, with the devastating bushfires and the COVID-19 pandemic.

“These awards are one way of showing our appreciation for the efforts of those who have worked tirelessly to keep our communities safe and healthy during this period.”

MPHN Acting CEO Julie Redway is encouraged individuals, organisations and communities to submit award nominations prior to the 3 October closing date.

“The Primary Healthcare Awards recognise the achievements in primary healthcare activities in the area of innovation, promotion of healthy living, and leadership as well as rewarding and acknowledging the dedication and hard work of community groups or organisations who received funding from MPHN’s various drought or bushfires grants.” Said Ms Redway.

Award winners will be announced 20 November at the 2021 Primary Healthcare Awards and dinner.
