The Inland Rail Community Wellbeing Partnership aims to support good community health and wellbeing for communities impacted by the Inland Rail Program, through increasing community resilience and ensuring awareness and access to mental health services. Eligible communities in the Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN) include the Greater Hume Shire, Wagga Wagga, Junee, Temora and Bland Local Government Areas.

There are three components to the Partnership:

  1. Training for ARTC’s Community Consultative Committee (CCC) members and key community members to strengthen their mental health awareness and knowledge.

  2. Increasing awareness of, and access to, counselling support services (mental health services), by residents experiencing stress or hardship related to the Inland Rail Program.

  3. Sharing information about the Inland Rail Program through networks.

Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) is committed to supporting the wellbeing of communities living alongside the Inland Rail Program. Community health and wellbeing is a key component of ARTC’s Social Investment Program and ARTC’s project-specific Social Impact Management Plan.

The partnership with MPHN will assist ARTC to deliver on its commitment to supporting neighbouring communities. ARTC aims to mitigate risks associated with the Inland Rail Program and maximise benefits for local communities.
