Enhancing Paediatrics in Primary Care
The Enhancing Paediatrics in Primary Care (EPiPC) program provides single advice support to General Practitioners to care for children 0-7 years old within the Murrumbidgee region who are experiencing behavioural and/or developmental concerns. This program employs a Community Paediatrician to provide an advisory support service to support GPs within the primary care setting.
The EPiPC program aims to increase GP confidence and skill in providing initial behaviour/development screening and recommendations at an earlier stage for children they see in their practice. Recommendations may include appropriate screening tools, interventions and therapy that can be initiated in the primary care setting. Overall, we hope to increase continuity and collaboration to ultimately improve the journey for families and children with behaviour/development concerns.
