Consultations for Suicide Prevention

MPHN has funding, provided by the Commonwealth Government, to invest in a new approach to suicide prevention, focusing on evidence and community based suicide prevention activities.
We are seeking input from the community so that we can meet and explore possible solutions and service models.

  • The morning session is for people who have a lived experience of suicidal risk and attempts
  • The afternoon session is for people who have supported a loved one experiencing suicidal thoughts or attempts, and those bereaved by suicide
  • Hearing from you about what works and what is missing in suicide prevention, aftercare and support
  • Working with us to create solutions that may lead to new service models or approaches
  • Help us to learn more about the top priorities so we can invest funding wisely

The consultation is a group-based discussion. A consultant who has a lived experience will carefully facilitate the discussion. Any feedback or information provided during the discussion will be de-identified.

The discussion will focus on the following areas:

These events are free and each session will have a morning/afternoon tea provided.
If you are unable to attend a consultation, you can participate through the online survey at www.surveymonkey.com/r/8T3B3VF or you can ask for a paper copy to be sent to you by contacting Julie Bailey.
